Breanne Feudale is co-owner and Head Coach at Home Grown CrossFit CrossFit. She has always had a passion for fitness andphysical activities. At a young age she began playing club soccer and continued her enthusiasm of this sport throughout her high school years. At the age of 13 she began to participate in another sport, the Korean martial art of Taekwondo. She went on to compete in many local,state and national tournaments where she was able to earn bronze, silver and gold medals. Through her dedication in Taekwondo, she achieved her third degree Black Belt. In addition to Breanne’s fitness background, she has earned her Masters Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology. She also has a B.A. Degree in Graphic Design from San José State University. Breanne is a certified Strength and Conditioning specialist, a USAW Olympic Weightlifting Coach and a certified Level 1 CrossFit Coach. In 2008 and 2009, she participated in the Crossfit Games and in 2009 she placed third at the NorCal Regional CrossFit Regionals. (click here for short video of her performance) In 2010 and 2012, Breanne also qualified in the NorCal Regionals. In 2013 she placed 21st fittest female in NorCal Regionals.
Breanne enjoys working-out hard and inspiring each of her clients to do the same to achieve their own personal goals. She believes that physical strength and fitness is very important in life and when the body is physically fit, it can operate at its maximum level. Her philosophy holds true to the saying, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
Luis Velasquez (email@example.com)
Luis Velasquez is co-owner of Home Grown CrossFit and the person that will get you ready for any endurance event. Luis’ resume is varied, but in short, he is an endurance junkie, a brain tumor survivor and a business consultant. Luis has competed and completed many endurance events including several Ironman races, numerous ultra runs (he is not sure of the exact number), including several at the 100 mile range. His biggest race has been against a brain tumor which he is still fighting. He is CrossFit Endurance Certified and uses CrossFit endurance with the athletes he coaches and with his own training. His introduction to CrossFit was after running an inroman triathlon. He came back injured and frustrated about his performance. He decided to take a break from triathlon training and was looking for something to do while recovering. Enter CrossFit, after a few weeks he was hooked. He started running and biking again and realized he was much stronger and faster because of CrossFit, that was it, the deal was sealed. He went back the following year to do another ironman triathlon with much less training; he PR’d by almost an hour. Ask him about how CrossFit changed the way his training goes and he will tell you his experience, he loves to talk about it. He also blogs about his running.
Luis education and background is eclectic, he has a PhD, an MBA and a MS, his day job is with a consulting firm working with clients all over the world. He is also a motivational speaker and his passion for CrossFit and endurance events is evident, he will help you get ready for your event whether it is a 5K, a half or full marathon an ironman triathlon or an ultra marathon.

Lisa was born and raised in the central valley and was always involved with sports. Lisa’s main focus was on soccer which she played throughout her high school years. Lisa put athletics on hold while she went to college to attain a degree in Dental hygiene in 2007. She moved to the peninsula shortly after and began working as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Menlo Park. Once she made the peninsula home, she found her passion for athletics again with CrossFit. She has been doing CrossFit for 4 years now and is very passionate about fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. She has made many personal accomplishments with her CrossFit training which is continuing to get better and better. Currently Lisa is one of the strongest female athletes at HGCF and in 2012 she participated in the CrossFit open and found her competitive nature to thrive even more with the sport. As the great person that she is, she always is eager to help fellow CrossFitters. She is a Level one certified Crossfit coach, a great motivator and very helpful individual. You can typically find her in the evening classes, either working out or teaching. Her energetic personality and positive attitude will put you in a great mood! Kristian Skarsfeldt (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Coach Kristian discovered CrossFit in 2010 after becoming bored with the usual ”Globo Gym” routine of lifting weights 4-5 times a week and some cardio. After crossing the international seas, this native Dane moved to Los Angeles and thirsted for something different. CrossFit was a completely new concept of constantly varying workouts, maximizing intensity and training that emphasizes functional movement. Kristian embraced the concept and community of CrossFit and never looked back. CrossFit transformed Kristian by major strength gains and endurance.
Kristian transplanted up to San Mateo and felt an immediate connection with the crew at Home Grown CrossFit where he became a trainer to help others realize and achieve their own athletic potential in CrossFit. Kristian is also certified in Sport Coach Level 1 Certified by USA Weightlifting. CrossFit is infinitely scalable and can be modified to meet every fitness level which is critical to teaching a group of Crossfitters of various levels. Kristian loves to help our CrossFit community regardless of your background. So if you are a former high school/collegiate athlete or a new athlete with no fitness background, bring your questions.

Alvin grew up in the Bay Area. He played football for four years in high school where he was first introduced to Olympic lifting. Here is where he discovered his love for moving heavy weights. After high school he pursued a career in the culinary arts and learned to love food. This love led to a gain of weight that reached its peak at 223 lbs. Through a course of events within the years that follow he came to the realization that he wasn’t happy with himself. He thought “if I am not happy with myself, then do something to change it.” His journey to weight loss began with a decision to walk a mile a day. That mile turned into a thirst to learn more about fitness and do more with what he had. He knew that a person can only change that of which he has control over. This thirst for transformation led him to the normal globo gym routine that most of us have experienced. As the thirst for knowledge grew and the obsession of human movement began, his search led him to a website. CrossFit.Com. and the deal was sealed. From there he was led and inspired to get his certification in Olympic weightlifting through usaw. He coaches early mornings and his passion and energy are contagious. He also likes working on his weaknesses on a daily basis… In addition to CrossFit, he likes long walks on the beach with a black coffee in hand and picking up sea glass by the sea shores. Loves country music and considers a painful wod to be therapeutic.

Morganna Hayes (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Coach Morganna was born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu. She participated in many different sports throughout her life and that eventually lead her to a tennis scholarship all throughout college. From surfing, swim team, competitive paddling, tennis, cross country, track, and tennis, she always put health and fitness at the forefront of her mind. She recently graduated from Notre Dame de NaMur University in May of 2013 with her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology and an associate’s degree in Business Administration. She is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer, also certified as a UFC Trainer, and is a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer. She is also currently writing a paleo cookbook and is running a blog revolved around her paleo adventure and her crossfit progress. Morganna discovered she had developed celiacs disease by the time she was 13 and went vegan/ gluten free/ raw, etc. for about 6 years until she finally discovered Paleo as her number 1 way to eat. She also discovered Crossfit about a year and a half ago now while working as a personal trainer and fell in love and never stopped. Now her passion is to help others learn the value of clean eating and exercise and how those aspects can greatly impact life, athletic performance, and mental health. She runs HGCF Kids program and also helps teach the adult level 1 classes. She is our nutrition expert and will be very happy to help you tackle your nutrition challenges.

Ian Cabauatan lived most of his life in the Bay Area, more specifically in San Francisco and San Mateo. He is currently working toward his B.S. in Recreation with a focus in Recreation Therapy from California State University East Bay. Ian has played basketball throughout his life and continues to do so. After experimenting with a number of strength and conditioning programs, he discovered that CrossFit has given him the optimal results. He found CrossFit to be applicable on any level from beginners wanting to become fit to collegiate/professional athletes and anywhere in between. His passion for CrossFit developed quickly, which resulted in obtaining a CrossFit level 1 certification. During his internship at HomeGrown CrossFit, he’s taken a greater interest in coaching others to become better individuals each day.
Ian has contributed hundreds of hours promoting an active lifestyle among at-risk youth by helping them meet their weekly-recommended levels of physical activity. He’s helped after school programs, such as Boys & Girls Club, in obesity education and awareness. With knowledge in fitness and a background with youth, Ian hopes to encourage kids to foster healthy habits as early as they can.
Sara Marstrom (SaraM@hgxfit.com)
Sara has been a busy-body since she was a wee lass. Both parents were–and still are–very active and encouraged Sara to participate in lots of sports. She played basketball, fast-pitch softball, golf, volleyball, dance, competed in archery, and was even a cheerleader.
In December of 1999, Sara enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. She served for four years and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. Upon discharge, Sara attended massage therapy school, which piqued her interest in musculoskeletal anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. In 2007,Sara transferred to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to finish her Bachelor’s in Chemistry. While Sara still considers chemistry a very important field, she decided to pursue a career that she was more passionate about–wine. After five years in the wine business in North Carolina Sara moved to the Bay Area to continue selling fine wine and spirits to restaurants and boutique retail shops in the Peninsula.
Before being introduced to CrossFit by a dear friend, Sara practiced yoga for 5 years. She struggled to maintain a regular exercise regimen of yoga and occasional running. After her first class at CrossFit Local in Chapel Hill, NC in December 2010 she was hooked. Initially, Sara was allured by the constantly varied, functional, and scalable aspects of CrossFit workouts, but the community are what has sustained her presence. Sara has been a CrossFit Level 1 trainer since June 2012. She is ecstatic to have the fortune of sharing her love for the healthy lifestyle that CrossFit fosters with newcomers and seasoned athletes alike.
